Wayne Pitman Ford to host fundraiser on May 31st
A community-minded dealership understands that their role extends well beyond just transactions -- to be successful, they should be active in the community they serve. By supporting local charitable causes, community events, and investing in meaningful corporate social responsibility programs, Wayne Pitman Ford is trying their best to live out their values and give back to the community that has supported them for 50 years.
That is why Wayne Pitman Ford (your local, family-owned dealership) and Ford Motor Company of Canada are combining forces and "Building Together" (a Ford Motor Company tagline) to bring a unique event to Guelph on Sunday, May 31st.
Here are the details:
Ford Motor Company of Canada will be contributing $30 per test drive (one per household) up to a maximum of $6,000 (200 test drives). However, team from Wayne Pitman Ford and Wayne Bricknell (Owner and Dealer Principal) wanted to customize the Drive For Your Community fundraiser as part of their ongoing 50th anniversary celebrations. That's why they are topping up the donations to $50 per test drive, with no cap on the number of test drives, to symbolize the 50 years that Wayne Pitman Ford has been serving the community.
"Our hospital is the backbone of our community, providing critical care and emergency services when people need it the most," said Doug Bricknell, Operations Manager at Wayne Pitman Ford. "It is a common misconception that the hospital is fully funded by taxes. However, community donations fund essential equipment, programs, renovation and expansion projects, as well as patient care supplies. Everything from carts and beds to MRI machines and other diagnostic equipment is donor funded."

That's why we feel it is important to do our part and contribute and make sure we have the best equipment and facilities to accommodate our growing city. Not only does this funding make experiences better for patients, but it also helps improve workplace conditions for the amazing professionals and staff working at the hospital, which is key to attracting and retaining top talent." said Doug Bricknell who is a regular donor and volunteer, just like his parents Wayne and Maria and sister Julia.
The Wayne Pitman Ford Drive For Your Community fundraising event is your chance to help the hospital, without having to reach into your pocket!
The event will take place rain or shine on Sunday, May 31st at the University of Guelph campus, parking lot P13, by the beach volley ball courts and South Residence off of Stone Road.
Participants will get to choose from a variety of new Ford vehicles like the Mustang, Maverick, Bronco Sport, Mach-E, Bronco, Ranger, Explorer, F150, and more. There will be hybrids and EVs in addition to regular gas vehicles, so folks can drive something aligned with their style and preferences.
Ultimately, it's a day of fun with an important purpose and a great way to celebrate 50 years of "Driving the Community" for Wayne Pitman Ford.
